Looking to help out fellow writers in need, “The Daily Show” team will host a NYC event called There Will be Comedy

NEW YORK, NY (Hollywood Today) 1/15/08 – A lot of writers are struggling to make ends meet while their guild continues the fight for a fair contract with Hollywood producers. However, the staffs of many programs have found a way to make some extra cash.
The writing team for “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” will hold a benefit performance at Manhattan’s Ars Nova on January 22, with proceeds going to the Writers Guild Industry Support Fund.
“The Colbert Report,” “30 Rock,” and “Saturday Night Live” each performed live fundraiser versions of their shows at the Upright Citizen Brigade’s New York theatre as part of an on-going series of events. All 3 tagged promotional materials with the phrase “On Strike!”
The line-up for “The Daily Show” benefit, entitled “There Will Be Comedy,” includes stand-up comedy, sketches, and filmed segments courtesy of Daily Show correspondent John Oliver, co-executive producer Rory Albanese, and writers Hallie Haglund, J.R. Havlan, Elliott Kalan, Rob Kutner, Adam Lowitt and Sam Means.
According to “Daily Show” scribe Rachel Sklar, tickets are going for $20 each… $5 cheaper than a WGA membership card.

Actually, the Industry Support Fund benefits NON-WGA workers affected by the strike, not writers.

The writers are already over paid and have more security than most working Americans. They should go back to work and stop complaining.

Where can I find a free anonymous web proxy to visit MySpace & Facebook? My school blocks these site. Any ideas?
