‘No Country for Old Men’ Now Academy Award front-runner
By Robin Rowe

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 12/06/07 – ‘No Country for Old Men’ was awarded Best Film of the Year by the National Board of Review, making it the more or less front-runner for the Oscars as the NBR is the first critics’ group to state their case.
The bloody American crime drama was directed by the Joel and Ethan Coen, who share an Oscar for writing ‘Fargo’. ‘No Country for Old Men’ is based on the Cormac McCarthy novel and was released by Miramax and Paramount Vantage on November 21st.
George Clooney was named Best Actor for his performance in the title role of ‘Michael Clayton’. Michael Clayton is the fictional story of a corporate New York attorney who handles the toughest cases and dirtiest work for the firm. ‘Michael Clayton’ is based on an original screenplay by writer-director Tony Gilroy and was released by Warner Bros. Pictures on October 5th.
Julie Christie was named Best Actress for her performance in ‘Away From Her’. Christie played the role of Fiona, a woman being consumed by Alzheimer’s disease after a marriage of almost fifty years. ‘Away From Her’ is based on the Alice Munro short story “The Bear Came Over the Mountain” and was released by Lions Gate Films on May 4th.

I agree with you 99% but wonder if you have really looked at the whole picture. DOn’t mean to be critical just food for thought.

Awesome info! I was honestly just thinking about something similar to this the other day so, it was almost “weird” when I ran across this. You would be surprised how many people simply have no idea when it comes to this kind of stuff. Anyway, thanks for getting this info out there and I’m sure I’m not the only one who appreciates you taking the time to post this for the masses.
