HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 11/16/07 – Lindsay Lohan entered the women’s detention center in Lynwood on Thursday, and after serving 84 minutes as part of a DUI sentence, she was released.
“She was cooperative,” said Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore. According to Whitmore, Lohan did not receive any exclusive treatment because of her celebrity status.
“This is what we do for most everybody in this position,” he added. Whitmore also explained that the center sends an average of 30 to 50 women home early on a daily basis.
Lohan entered the facility at 10:30 a.m. and left at 11:54 a.m. Her one day sentence was shortened when it was determined the actress met requirements for early release due to overcrowding and the non-violent nature of her crime.
After Lohan allegedly chased the mother of her personal assistant along the Pacific Coast Highway in July, authorities arrested her and found a small amount of cocaine in her possession.
Agreeing to a plea deal of misdemeanor DUI and cocaine charges in August, the “Mean Girls” star performed 10 days of community service and then had until January 18 to turn herself in for a day-long lockup.
Reporting for her sentence appears to have been another positive move for the rehabbed starlet. Lohan seems focused on shedding her inner wild child for a new, clean image. Since leaving rehab, she has managed to avoid spending too much time in the limelight, instead opting for quieter evenings and outings.
