HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 9/15/07 – Newlywed actress Eva Longoria ponders her future as actress, wife and mother. She also wonders who her potential co-star “neighbors” might be this season on her ensemble hit series “Desperate Housewives.”
The actress said she heard reports that David Beckham might do a stint on the TV show. Longoria approached friend Victoria Beckham, asking if her hotter-than-hot husband David was interested in a little cameo role.
The “supposed part” was rumored to involve fellow Brit and pop star Robbie Williams. The two sexy men would be the first gay couple to live on Wisteria Lane. But, “No, I talked to Victoria the other day,” Longoria said. “I told her about that rumor, she was laughing. David had a good laugh out of it. No, they are not coming on the show.”
But Longoria has other things to be excited about. She got married to French basketball star Tony Parker this summer. The 32-year old actress talked about family and the couple’s desire to eventually raise a family here in the United States. “Tony definitely wants to live in Texas. We both want to live in Texas,” she said. “We’ll spend our summers in France. We want to do both, but they’ll (children) be raised in America.”
But, the very busy couple, are not quite ready to have babies yet. “Tony wants children and so do I, but I’m also involved in a very successful series, which has been the greatest break in my career and I have to be respectful of that,” she told the AFP.
To top that off, Longoria has even bigger career dreams for the near future. She has confirmed that she and pop star Beyonce Knowles (“Austin Powers”) are in current talks to do a joint project for the big screen. The film would be an adaptation of Sarah Waters novel “Tipping the Velvet.” The BBC has already produced a drama series based on the book “about a love affair between two women.”
Sophia Coppola is set to direct the film.
Knowles believes the time is right for the “women’s version” of critically acclaimed “Brokeback Mountain,” which succeeded at the box office.
