Mark Cuban, Marie Osmond, Wayne Newton and Jane Seymour set for “Dancing with the Stars”

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 9/29/07 — What do a Las Vegas legend, a boxing champ, an outspoken billionaire, a British actress and a pop star have in common? They form part of the eclectic cast that will be putting on their dancing shoes for the new season of “Dancing with the Stars”
Moreover musical guests this season include pop punker Avril Lavigne, songstress Gloria Estefan and country crooner Dolly Parton, who opens the season on Sept. 24.
“Dancing with the Stars,” the show which pairs celebrities with professional dancers to compete for a mirror ball trophy, airs for its fifth season on ABC.
Stars Hitting the dance floor this season include Melanie Brown, a.k.a. “Scary Spice” and Mel B.: Brown found fame in the late 90′s as a pop star in the ultra-successful girl group the “Spice Girls.” The 32-year-old was more recently seen in the tabloids for her public affair with actor Eddie Murphy, who denied and later admitted fathering her child. Brown also recently got married and is preparing for a Spice Girl reunion which kicks off this December.
Wayne Newton: The 65-year-old is a Las Vegas legend, who continues to perform live shows in Las Vegas with timeless hits such as “Danke Schoen.” It still remains to be seen if Newton’s dance moves will remain timeless all the way to the finals.
Floyd Mayweather: At 30 years old, Mayweather reigns as the World Boxing Champion of the World with an undefeated record of 38-0. The six-time world champion hopes to knockout the rest of the competition on ‘Dancing’ while he concurrently trains for his next championship bout.
Mark Cuban: Outspoken billionaire, Dallas Mavericks owner, and HDNet founder. Cuban makes his second appears in his second reality series, he formerly starred on ABC’s “The Benefactor” where he gave away $1 million dollars of his own money. The 48-year-old holds a fortune of $2.3 billion and is known for his verbal antics.
Jane Seymour: The British actress, former “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” star, author and advocate for abused children was a little hesitant about taking on this venture. Her ill mother, who says “Dancing’ is her favorite show, helped convince her to compete.
The remaining competitors include: Sabrina Bryan one of the stars from Disney’s hit the “Cheetah Girls,” Brazilian native and Indianapolis 500 champion Helio Castraneves, Sports Illustrated model & actress Josie Maran, from the famous “Abercrombie & Fitch” campaign ads- model Albert Reed, singer & former variety show star Marie Osmond, “All My Children” soap star Cameron Mathison, and finally actress Jennie Garth who’s following in the footsteps of fellow “Beverly Hills, 90210″ alum Ian Ziering, which previously competed in “Dancing with the Stars.”
Host Tom Bergeron, judge Carrie Ann Inaba and last season’s winner, Apolo Anton Ohno appeared live on “Good Morning America” this morning to help announce this seasons “Dancing with the Stars” cast.
