LONDON (Hollywood Today/AFP) 8/19/07 – Yanks have been ruling Britain’s music charts lately, rather than the other way around. Elvis is on top of the album charts and Atlanta, GA rapper Kanye West is at the peak of the British singles charts released on Sunday.
Hip-hopper Timbaland from Norfolk, VA is No. 3 with the grammatically deficient “The Way I Are,” featuring Keri Wilson.
West knocked charttopper and Swedish covergirl Robyn whose “With Every Heartbeat” dropped to second place.
In the album charts, meanwhile, Elvis Presley’s latest greatest hits collection, “The King”, went straight to the top of the charts, after fans commemorated the 30th anniversary of his death Thursday.
“Suspicious Minds” by Elvis also debuted in 11th position in the singles charts.
Kate Nash’s album “Made of Bricks” and Newton Faulkner’s “Hand Built By Robots” were second and third respectively in the album charts.
