
HOLLYWOOD, CA Hollywood Today (AFP) 7/27/07 — British filmmaker and Madonna’s husband Guy Ritchie will adapt his comic book series “Gamekeeper” for the big screen with action producer Joel Silver, Hollywood trade press reported Thursday. Published by Virgin Comics, “Gamekeeper” tells the story of a man deeply in tune with animal behavior who is in search of vengeance after his son is killed.
Ritchie has made few films in the last five years except for 2005′s “Revolver” with Jason Stratham and Ray Liotta. Never picked up for US theatrical distribution, it is expected to come out in limited release this year sometime.
Joel Silver, whose work includes blockbusters such as “The Matrix,” “Lethal Weapon” and “Die Hard,” is set to produce the Ritchie film, according to industry publication Variety.
Ritchie, 38, directed the British gangster flicks “Snatch” and “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.”
