HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 6/4/07 — Larry Flynt’s hardcore magazine “Hustler” took out a full page ad in the Washington Post looking for sex scandals on Capitol Hill. While Washington has more than its share of sex and secrets, this publicity stunt is notable as no one has put out a million dollar bounty on Congressional DC dirt before.

“Have you had a sexual encounter with a current member of the United States Congress or a high-ranking government official?” asked the ad.

Flynt offered one million dollars for documented evidence of scandalous sexual relations involving prominent officeholders. Flynt previously took out an ad during the Bill Clinton impeachment trials, over his relations with Monica Lewinsky.

Flynt’s efforts that time exposed no shocking secrets, however it was suspected that Flynt had more evidence than he let on and was involved in some back room dealings with Republican congressmen. It was suspected that Flynt’s efforts played a part in the resignation of House Representative Bob Livingston of Louisiana. Livingston had just become speaker elect of the Republican controlled House of Representatives, he revealed that he had indeed had indecent sexual relations and resigned before Flynt was able to publish anything.

It is unknown if Flynt has a specific target this time or if he is simply mixing things up with one of his usual publicity stunts. With the current administration’s alignment with the Christian right and surge in debate over moral authority in the presidential primaries, a juicy sex scandal could drastically change the political climate and power balance.

Hollywood Today asks that if you have such information of a sex scandal that affects a public official’s actual performance of duty (we don’t really care if they have a sex life) you contact us, or the Washington Post. Neither will pay for story leads like Flynt will, but where you publish is as important as what you publish. Hollywood.today@yahoo.com
