HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 6/2/07 – CBS reality TV favorite Dilana, runner-up on the series “Rock Star Supernova,” isn’t taking second place any quieter than her more-famous “American Idol” counterparts.
She performed with members of Rock Star Supernova Tommy Lee, Jason Newsted, Gilby Clarke and even the winner of Rock Star Supernova new frontman Lukas Rossi during their live tours.
She’s building a career on talent, as she has done since she was a child in her native South Africa.
“I had been playing and singing in South Africa and Holland were I had been performing for 10 years, with cover bands, and writing songs for my One Chick Cycle Bitch Shows,” she said. “I’m really like a burned marshmallow on the outside, with her multi-colored hair, metal precisions, and tats who would ever think that she was just a big-hearted softy inside.”
“It was after an AIDS benefit concert in South Africa that a small AIDS baby dies in my arms. I needed to do something for these children she said. I need to build a hospital for these AIDS babies.”
“I love these children special the babies with AIDS I feel close to them. Dilana tells Hollywood Today. “I ready admire Bono and the other people with power that are trying to make a difference to stop AIDS with their hands on help, we need more people to step up and get involved before it’s to later. She goes on to tell how after she saw the first Rock Star Supernova show she knew that this was her ticket to ride.
She sent her tape into the show’s producers, three weeks later she in Houston Texas for her first audition. “With over 25,000 entries it was like winning the Lotto” said Dilana. “Being chosen to compete and the chance to become a Rock Star Supernova band member. I knew that I have the talent, was gifted, and lucky, yes even a little bite of a Diva too.”
“I was ready to make the jump.”
Dalia mentioned that she still talks to the boys in Super Nova and even has time to ride her motorcycle with Gilby.
Plans are for her to hit the road this summer with her own band.
At the Avalon in Hollywood Dilana performed for the Milagro Foundation, which Carlos Santana and his wife Deborah formed to help abused children.
We met with her that night in the bowels of the Avalon. She said the CBS show was the answer to her prayers and how the resulting fame gives her the forum to help others. She is collecting for the children of the Milagro Foundation, gathered together for this special night that included a fashion show of Carlos’s new shoe designs, also they auction off a Paul Smith hand painted guitar signed by Carlos Santana with all the monies from the auction and his new shoes line goes back to support Deborah and Carlos Santana’s Milagro Foundation, the people that night were right in step.
Hollywood Today was told that Carlos Santana will be in Europe during the G-8 summit meetings to receive a Peace Award for his lifes work for peace, that sounds like magic for his Milagro Foundation..
