Love says bye to Kurt baggage

Cobain garb for sale
HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 4/30/07 – More than 20 years after Kurt Cobain’s death, Courtney Love is finally seeking closure. The former Hole frontwoman plans to hold a Christie’s auction to sell off the possessions of her late-husband, leader of seminal grunge band Nirvana.
“My daughter gets a sweater, a guitar and the lyrics to ‘(Smells Like) Teen Spirit.’ She doesn’t need to inherit a giant bag full of flannel shirts,” says Love. And the rest of it we’ll just sell.”
Given that Love was recently sued for an unpaid rehab bill and subsequently signed a $50 million deal to sell 25 percent of the royalties from Cobain’s music, it’d be easy to assume that her motives for the auction are money motivated, but she denies it.
Pointing to a more personal reason, Love said, “I still wear his pajamas to bed. How am I ever going to go form another relationship in my lifetime wearing Kurt’s pajamas?”
Perhaps selling the excess Cobain memorabilia will turn over a new leaf for Love, who despite very public setbacks in the past, claims (in her blog) to have dropped 44 pounds, corrected her botched nose job, and been drug free for more than a year. If all these improvements are true, they’ve come at an ideal time since Love’s new album “Nobody’s Daughter” will be in stores shortly.
In keeping with her new image, Love plans to donate “a bunch of [the money] to charity.” Despite the naysayers, she also said, “Everyone’s been positive and behind me on it,” she told spinner.com.
