HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 4/25/07 — Think your pet is spoiled to the max? Hollywood dog lovers have always taken pet pampering to new levels and recent charity events brought out the dollied doggies in their red carpet best with their celebrity masters in tow.
Lisa Edelstein, Stacy Keibler, and Debbie Matenopoulos pranced the red carpet and runways with their prize pooches at the star studded fashion show, ‘Crystal Canine.’ Presented by LA Dogworks and Swarovski Crystal, the doggie fashion show featured swanky pet accessories such as clothing, jewelry, collars, leads, and dog carriers embellished with crystal elements. The finale showcased a bride and a groom outfit on a pair of Chihuahua’s and the event benefit the Best Friends Animal Society.
Nuts for Mutts Sixth Annual Dog Show this past week also brought out the celebs and their beloved fluffs of fur. Founders Bobby and Kelly Dorafshar hosted celebrity pet owners Michelle Stafford, Adrienne Frantz, plus Melissa and Ron Hudson with their pooch Lola, a star in her own right.
Lola, a 4 year old Pomeranian, was featured on Lifetime’s “Off The Leash” and upcoming Bravo’s ‘Hey Paula’ with Paula Abdul. Lola, trained at LePaws Agency, and is the spokesdog of “Lola In Laguna,” a pet care line of 30 products made with 100% natural ingredients.
Created by her owners, Melissa and Ron Hudson as a result of Lola’s need for a product that didn’t irritate her skin, ‘Lola In Laguna’ caters to pet owners such as Gwen Stefani, Carmen Electra, Nicole Ritchie, Tori Spelling and Paula Abdul and other canine customers who pamper their pets with the line of pet beauty, vitamins, nutritionals, accessories and luxury couture.
Pet accessories such as necklaces, sunglasses, and clothing are also available. After the recent hoopla surrounding the pet food industry, the Hudson’s are considering adding pet food to the popular line as well. Lola donates a portion of her time and proceeds by attending and helping various pet and children’s charities.
Another recent charity event, ‘In Defense of Animals’ featured a night of music and entertainment hosted by Paula Abdul. Celebrities and pet lovers showed up in droves to support the rescued Katrina animals. Paula was introduced to Lola and other pets.
Another all-inclusive destination for your pet K9s Only recently held a grand opening for their new facility. The ‘swanky dog digs for your Gucci pucci!’ sets the worldwide standard for K9 care. Their Rovers Retreat Suites include luxury bedding, flat screen TV, personalized toy box and home cooked meals for that home away from home.
Bobby Dorafshar, one of L.A.’s most experienced dog trainers/behaviorists and long-time rescuer, designed and built K9s Only, a 5-star- spa complete with doggie beds and suites to meet your dog’s every desire.
Their wellness center includes a swimming/therapy pool, massage, acupuncture, health and weight management as well as post and pre surgery services. They also have grooming, day care, training facilities and gift shop complete with pet accessories.
All told, these dogs certainly have a ruff life in Hollywood.
