HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 3/21/07 – Oscar will become an octogenarian on February 24, 2008, the date just announced for the 80th Annual Academy Awards broadcast. The all-important wake-up calls to lucky nominees will go out on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 5:30 a.m.
Hollywood is taking careful notes as Academy president today announced the key dates for all 2008 Oscar events leading up to the Sunday, Feb. 24 ceremony at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. It will be televised by ABC TV Network. Advertising, marketing and a slew of scheduling decisions can now be made for various other awardcasts, film and video releases, and so on.
Wishful thinking will have some also making travel plans, but nomination balloting doesn’t close until Jan. 12, 2008 and final votes are due Feb. 19. The key dates for the 80th Annual Academy Awards include:
