HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 3/14/07 – “Nip/Tuck” is proving a fertile ground for actors looking to make the move into film with two series stars premiering in major motion pictures this week.

Julian McMahon, who stars in the F/X Channel series as the promiscuous Dr. Christian Troy, appears in “Premonition” opposite Sandra Bullock, who had nothing but praise for his dedication, especially during a tricky love scene.

Joely Richardson, who stars in the feature “The Last Mimzy,” is back as Julia McNamara on the plastic surgery-themed show, though she says she never left.

“Julian is a workhorse,” said Bullock of McMahon. “He takes his craft very seriously and I felt very comfortable with him. I admire him for the man he is and his dedication. And he’s really tall and he made me look tiny. I love that.”More...
The award-winning actress said that came in handy when extra effort was needed to make a love scene come to life. “The love scene that we did isn’t the love scene that was written. We got to that night and we went, ‘Something’s not right.’ So the three of us (Julian McMahon, director Mennan Yapo and I) locked ourselves in a room and said, “What is it we want to say in a visual way and emotionally.”

Richardson, who is in Bob Shaye’s semi-sci-fi adventure film “The Last Mimzy,” said it wasn’t even her movie career that was responsible for lack of face time on “Nip/Tuck.”

“I never left the series. I just needed time out for a personal reason which they very kindly gave me and it was just three episodes and it happened to be the last few off. So it wasn’t a dramatic exit on any level,” she said. “In terms of fifth season I’m definitely contracted. We’re just talking about it now because the series has moved to L.A. so we’ll see.’

She added “I think it will infuse it with new energy. I know in terms of the McNamaras (her character Julia and Sean played by Dylan Walsh) I felt we’d done everything around that kitchen table that we could do so by that point where can you go? I think it’s great that it’s moved to L.A. because there are endless possibilities.”
