Hudson wins for “DreamGirls, yet “Labyrinth” leads with three Oscars

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 02/24/07 — Jennifer Hudson tearfully picked her expected best-supporting actress Oscar but in a the year with little consensus on any one picture, Pans Labrynth looks to be the Oscar leader, picking up three awards in the first half of the show including Best Cinematography.

Said Montse Ribe, best make up on “Labyrinth,” said as he accepted his award: “It’s very heavy. Thank you very much to the Academy. Thank you. Thank you very much to Guillermo Del Toro. You’re a very special person and very talented. Thank you very much to Picturehouse and Picasso and Tequila Gang.”

Said Eugenio Caballero, winner of achievement in art direction: “Thank you. We want to thank, first of all to the Academy for this dream come true. It’s an honor for us.
